PTC/User World Event is Next Month!

Posted in events on May 1st, 2010 by lizfraley – Be the first to comment

The PTC/USER World Event takes up where AUGI left off. Registration numbers for Arbortext attendees are ahead of where we were last year, while the other groups are not. The presentations this year are very high-quality.  There were so many submitted this year that next year, we’re hoping we have to add a third presentation track!

Details about the World Event can be found here: http://www.ptcuserworldevent.com/

This year, the Arbortext program will offer two concurrent presentation rooms and a dedicated Precision Learning classroom throughout the entire World Event. In addition, they will have special general sessions devoted to the topics of great interest for the Arbortext community. You can find the full agenda listed here.

The main conference runs Monday June 7th through Wednesday June 9th. Here are some of the special events for Arbortext attendees:

Sunday, June 6th is the pre-conference tutorial day. Two classes will be running on the 6th:

  • “Getting Started with Arbortext Advanced Print Publisher”
  • “S1000D “101″: Specification Overview, Best Practices and Tips and Tricks”

Thursday June 10th offers post-conference goodies:

There is still time to register and get in at the early bird prices. Register before May 7th to take advantage of them!  And remember, if you’re a “local” there’s always a 1-day, 2-day, or exhibit hall/reception pass.

Demo Jam at PTC/User World Event!

Posted in events on April 26th, 2010 by lizfraley – Be the first to comment

If you’re coming to PTC/User World Event, please plan to come to demo jam!

Here’s how it works:

We’ll provide the microphone and projector. You provide the laptop and the demo. You get five minutes MAX to demo anything you want, as long as you can reasonably claim that Arbortext is in there somewhere.

If push comes to shove, you can always use the free 14-day trial license for Arbortext Editor and Styler. Just remember the 14-day trial starts at download time not install time. So don’t prep too early!

Judging is by audience participation: if you make the crowd cheer the loudest, you win. Winner walks away with … guess you’ll have to come to find out!

Bring your demo, your entourage, and your loudest voices. Demo jam starts at 7:30p. See you there!

Our thanks to Norm Walsh and Balisage for coming up with this idea, trying it out at other conferences, and letting us join in the fun!
